WEST FARGO — Police used a drone to capture a man who ran from police and tried to hide in a farm field near West Fargo on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Officers tried to stop the man at about 11:25 p.m. for a traffic violation near the 800 block of 40th Avenue East, according to the West Fargo Police Department.

Officers identified the driver as Shawn Galusha, a 48-year-old man from Williston, North Dakota.

The vehicle fled west into Cass County, and the sheriff’s office used spikes to bring the vehicle to a stop on a dead-end gravel road.

Galusha fled from the vehicle and hid in a nearby field, where officers deployed a drone to find him, police said.

The drone team used thermal imaging technology to find Galusha in the unharvested field.

Galusha faces a felony charge of fleeing police and a misdemeanor charge of driving under suspension. Cass County District Court records did not list an attorney for him as of Wednesday.
