UAV Factory, a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners, has adopted the name Edge Autonomy following its combination with Jennings Aeronautics and will focus on expanding its market presence in multidomain autonomous and unmanned systems applications.
“The name Edge Autonomy reflects the vision of the organization and speaks to our ability to drive and deliver innovation at the tactical edge,” Jeff Hart, a principal at AE Industrial Partners, said in a statement published Tuesday.
San Luis Obispo, California-based Edge Autonomy is focused on providing unmanned aerial vehicle platforms and electro-optical and infrared camera payloads for government, academic and commercial clients in nearly 60 countries in support of their intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. The company has support offices in Herndon, Virginia, and Bend, Oregon.
In September 2021, AE Industrial Partners acquired Jennings Aeronautics, a California-based developer of small unmanned aerial systems, and merged it with UAV Factory.
