Feb. 1, 2022 — The Token Generation Event (TGE) for Panther Protocol, an end-to-end privacy solution that protects decentralized finance (DeFi) and Web3, took place at 11:59 pm UTC on Jan. 31, 2022. After raising more than 30 million dollars in private and public sales, Panther’s TGE represents a critical milestone for both its growth and its mission to restore financial privacy on the blockchain with interoperable zero-knowledge assets.

In the lead-up to this event, Panther protocol successfully created LaunchDAO: the world’s first privacy-preserving, decentralized voting mechanism. The result of the LaunchDAO vote has established Panther’s privacy protocol in a fully decentralized, private and democratic manner that is almost fully on-chain.

Anish Mohammed, chief technology officer (CTO) and co-founder of Panther Protocol, said, “From a first-principles perspective, LaunchDAO is recreating the privacy in voting that exists in the traditional world. Furthermore, via its trust provider services, Panther Protocol enables blockchain participants to be compliant whilst participating in a decentralized governance process.”

Oliver Gale, CEO and co-founder of Panther Protocol, said, “The success of Panther has been a result of our incredible teamwork and our community. We are confident that this signals the importance of Panther’s mission — enhancing freedom and privacy for DeFi and Web3.”

Panther is currently building on the Ethereum, Polygon, Flare, Songbird, Near and Elrond networks. In addition to developing a robust set of application programming interfaces, software development kits and custom integrations, Panther will allow builders to provide privacy features with their apps without requiring a highly specialized team of cryptographers and privacy tech engineers. Its goal is to create a private-by-default, decentralized ecosystem that unlocks the value currently siloed between blockchains.

Panther Protocol is an end-to-end privacy protocol for DeFi. Panther provides DeFi users with fully collateralized privacy-enhancing digital assets, leveraging crypto-economic incentives and zkSNARK — “Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge” — cryptographic proof technology. Users can mint zero-knowledge assets by depositing digital assets from any blockchain into Panther vaults. This will become an ever-expanding asset class for users who want private transactions and strategies. More information on tokenomics, exchange volumes and the release schedule can be found here.
